Holiday Hair is on everyone’s minds this December at Barron’s London Salon! Holiday parties, family visits, shopping for gifts…we can help! We have put together a few holiday hair and gift giving ideas to help you through one of our favorite times of the year!
The Braid: Braids have made a big comeback this year! For the holidays, try a simple braid that ends in a loose bun or ponytail. This simple look can be bohemian chic or polished perfect for those work parties or friendly gift exchanges. It adds a little something different without a lot of fuss. Adding clips, flowers or crystals can make the look lean toward casual or sophisticated. It’s up to you!
Top Knot: This is a fresh take on the traditional bun. Turn your head upside down, brush out your hair, secure with an elastic and twist! Turn upright and pin. Voila! A top knot has been created! You can braid the hair before you twist it, leave it messy or add accessories to give this new twist on a classic your own personal touch. Wrapping a festive scarf or adding a hair stick through the middle can add a little fun. Perfect for a quick ‘do for any occasion!
Make Waves: Waves are different than curls, so put away that curling iron! This holiday style requires a little time, but is well worth it. The results can last for several days and be good for several looks. On wet hair apply a styling product like Kevin Murphy Antigravity. (It’s weightless but adds texture and has hold). Brush the product through wet hair with a wide toothed comb. Take you hair into sections. The smaller the section, the more waves. Take each section and wrap it into a circle until you reach your scalp, then secure with a pin curl clip (these can be found at any beauty supply store). For waves that start lower, leave the hair a few inches from the scalp and secure. Let hair air dry, or sit under a dryer to COMPLETELY dry the hair. (This could take a while) When hair is completely dry, remove the pin curl clips. You are then left with cascading waves to be styled as you please. Brush them out, for a more relaxed look; use your fingers to separate for more definition. The rest is up to you! Spray with a little hairspray to hold.
