3 Tips to Healthy Winter Hair
Changes in temperature and harsh winter weather can be tough on your hair! Here are 3 simple rules to keep your hair looking it’s best this season
1. Condition, Condition, Condition!
Restore your hair with nutrients it loses in colder temperatures. Add a protein rich oil, like Moroccanoil to your favorite conditioner. Use the Moroccanoil hydrating masques once a week at home, or pamper yourself and add a conditioning treatment to your next salon visit! 2. Hands Off!
With it being hat and scarf season, we are tempted to run our fingers through our hair to smooth fly aways. However, the extra manipulation can cause an increase in shedding and can make split ends worse. When you can, try a trendy bun or braid instead. Lightly mist with a good hairspray, like Kevin Murphy’s Session spray, to hold hair in place and keep it looking great all day long!
3. Get Rid of Static!
Static cling is everywhere, especially in your hair during winter. Rubbing a basic dryer sheet over your hair can help reduce cling. Another easy fix is to use a natural boar bristle brush with a wooden handle, like the Spornette brushes we carry. Not only will it help with static, but a good boar bristle brush will last a lifetime. Finally, lightly mist locks with Unite Shina Mist, or any other good shine spray to help fight static and frizz.
