As 2013 comes to a close, the coolest in hair continues into the New Year. This season has been full of messy updos, frayed braids and unpolished ponytails. To keep the trend going for New Year’s Eve, we have a few suggestions for the perfect party ‘do!
If you don’t want a lot of fuss, this look will inspire you for sure. Wash hair and apply a styling lotion. (We like Kevin Murphy’s Anti Gravity) While damp, section your hair into large pieces and clip butterfly clips along the midshaft to ends. Let air dry. When completely dry, remove clips and add accessories! It’s as easy as that!
For something swept up, wash hair and apply a volumizing lotion. (We prefer Kevin Murphy’s Full Again). Blow dry the roots of your hair upside down to get the get maximum volume you can. Once your roots are dry, rough dry your ends. Take the top section of your hair and tease it toward the crown. Spray each section with hairspray (Kevin Murphy Session Spray) as you tease it. Secure with bobby pins. The bottom half, braid, loosely secure with a hair tie. Then pull out random sections of the braid to “fray” it. Finish with a lot of hairspray to keep the look messy, but done.
